Heritage Guitars, established through batches of high quality handcrafted solid wood guitars, began in the mid-80s as the result of an opportunity created by the closing of the Gibson building in Kalamazoo, Michigan when the corporation relocated to Nashville in Tennessee. Several Gibson sections neglected to follow the corporation away from Kalamazoo and instead began their own business manufacturing guitars.
